Quick start
This page gets a working consent banner live on a site in under five minutes: create an organization, add a property, install the script, and confirm the banner renders.
1. Create your organization
When you first sign in, Cookie Munch creates a default organization for you. You can create more from the organization switcher at the top of the sidebar — click it, then New org. Every property, banner design, and team member belongs to exactly one organization, and switching orgs re-scopes the whole dashboard.
Note: Free-tier accounts may own only 1 organization. See plans & billing for tier limits.
2. Add a property
A property is one domain you protect with a banner. Go to Properties in the sidebar and click Add property:
Enter the Domain (e.g.
acme.com).Pick a Platform — Web, iOS, Android, AMP, or Other — so the install instructions match your stack.
Click Add.
Cookie Munch generates a unique site ID (cbid) for the property, derived from the domain plus a random suffix (e.g. acme-com-9f3k). See properties for verification and management details.
3. Install the script
Click Install on the property card to open the snippet dialog, then copy the <script> tag. See installing the script for the full tag reference and platform-specific placement notes.
4. Design your banner
Open Banner Studio from the sidebar. A new organization starts with a polished default banner — a bottom bar with Accept all / Reject all / Customize, plus a preferences modal — so you have something presentable immediately. Pick a different starting point from Templates, or start editing directly. See Banner Studio for the full editor tour.
5. Publish
Click Publish in the Studio toolbar. This pushes your current draft live to every property the banner design is assigned to — visitors on those domains will see the new banner within seconds (the runtime script polls the config on load).
6. Verify it works
Open your site in an incognito window. You should see the banner on first load. Reject or accept, reload, and confirm the choice is remembered. Every decision is written to the consent log, viewable per-visitor from the dashboard.
